Electronic registration

Electronic registration can take place through: 

  • Companies House Software Filing Service; or 

  • Companies House Web Incorporation Service.

Software Filing Service

  • Uses a special software which enables communication of information with the Companies House;

  • Can be used through a company formation agent who is specialised in registering new companies;

  • The fee is £12.39;

  • Alternatively, you can purchase the necessary software and do it yourself electronically, but financially it doesn’t make sense unless you incorporate new companies regularly;

Web Incorporation Service

  • Uses Web Filing system, allowing anyone to register a new company by using the Companies House website;

  • Simply enter the required information on the website and pay the fee, and the Companies House will generate the necessary documents electronically;

*Paper registration takes place by sending hard copies of the necessary documents and the fee to the Registrar of Companies at Companies House in the jurisdiction in which the company is to be registered (which may be done in person or by post).
