What is Catalegal?

Catalegal is a unique legal platform connecting startups, students and solicitors.

Startups can access our vast catalogue of articles, written by students, approved by City lawyers and offered for free.

Catalegal articles have been tailored to the startup ecosystem, providing practical and actionable legal insights on a range of challenges and hurdles experienced in the entrepreneurial journey.

Where our articles are not enough, we can connect you directly with our partner law firm, Berkeley Rowe International Lawyers.

Our Process.

  • We do this in two ways:

    1. Direct engagement with startups provides us with valuable insights and real-world challenges. This includes conversations, suggestions, and inquiries submitted through our website.

    2. Sector-specific research Our team carries out practical legal research to identify key legal concepts, challenges, steps, etc. startups often face.

Each topic is carefully assessed for its applicability to the general startup ecosystem and relevance to the current economic landscape.

  • Contributors are equipped with a well-structured article plan designed by the Catalegal leadership team, intended to be used as a starting point for their research.

The writers have a month to research and produce a short, practical and insightful article.

  • Once the final draft is ready, it undergoes a rigorous review by our partner law firm who proofread the article for accuracy.

The articles are then published on our platform for free access.

“The team at Catalegal has been a great support since we met them. They are forthcoming with help and try to spot potential challenges we may face before they occur. This proactiveness is something special from an organisation in its infancy, particularly one run by law students.

They clearly have great ethics at the core of what they do, and this shines through in their actions. I would highly recommend them and wish them all the success they deserve in the future.”
